Research and Planning: Music Magazine Analysis 2

Flavour Music Magazine.
The magazine is an RnB music magazine, we can tell by the artist used on the cover; Alexandra Burke. the photograph of Alexandra is a Medium Close-Up, which shows most of her face, and her shoulders. The colours used also indicate that the magazine is of the RnB Genre, it follows the typical three colour scheme, and the use of pink, black and grey create a more urban edge to the magazine. the font of the masthead is in block letters, which stands out and is very eye-catching, this is effective as it helps draw the readers attention. The story also is one of a typical music magazine, as it refers to X-Factor, which is the competition which Alexandra Burke won. The names of other RnB artists on the strip across the bottom of the magazine also help us to identify that the magazine is of the RnB genre, as we familiarize ourselves with these artists. In the photograph, Alexandra Burke is represented to have some kind of attitude. The pose in which she is doing is intended to be sexy, yet also imply she is not one to be messed with. The target audience of the magazine appears to be young people, who are interested in the RnB genre of music, you can tell it is aimed at younger people due to the colour scheme and the artist used. I would say the magazine would be aimed more towards women, as they have used a female artist on the cover, and also pink in the colour scheme. The font size of the stories is large, which could be to draw the readers attention. It is hard to see what clothes in which Alexandra Burke is wearing, however, you can make out something metallic, which could imply further that she is seen to have an attitude.
