Research and Planning: Music Magazine Analysis 1

Vibe music magazine.
The genre of music for this magazine is RnB, you can tell this as the photograph on the front is of Beyonce, an RnB artist. The mise-en-scene of the cover also indicates that it is an RnB magazine. The outfit which Beyonce is wearing is sexy, which draws readers to the magazine, as women would like to read the magazine as they would like to be like Beyonce, where as men would read it as Beyonce is seen as a sexy woman on the cover. The shot of Beyonce is a medium shot, this is used so you see the majority of Beyonce's body. The magazine follows the three-colour scheme rule, using the colours red, white and black. These are quite contrasting colours, and are very eye-catching. Red could be used to represent danger, however it also symbolizes seduction and passion, which works well with the shot of Beyonce, as she is doing a sexy pose. The artists named on the front cover also indicate that the magazine is of the genre RnB. The font of the masthead is simple, and had a rounded-effect, which stands out and is one of the first things which catches your eye when you look at the cover. The target audience of the magazine is teenagers and young people, who listen to this genre of music. The magazine is aimed at both boys and girls. We can tell this by the artists used in the magazine, they all belong to the Rnb genre of music, and so the magazine is clearly aimed at people who enjoy this style. Also, people who listen to RnB are usually of a younger generation, which indicates that the magazine is aimed at this group of people.
